4 hours to redo

**Added 7/23/09:  Still having saving issues…well more like crashing issues after a few hours of playing.  I’m not sure what’s causing it.  I’ve done research and others are experiencing similar problems.  I think it might have something to do with the latest Indie Stone version.  Anyway, I re-played one part of my game 3 times before just giving up on it.  Things might be spotty for updates as I figure out what’s up.

So, this is a bummer.  I played four hours last night and just a few minutes ago I went to start up my game so that I could get some extra screenshots for my next update and the game wasn’t registering my saved game with the Kendricks.  I tried restarting my computer and still nothing.  So, I went to the saved game file.  The file was there stamped 11:36 pm yesterday.  So, I copied it and put it into my back up saved folder, deleted it and then re-copied it back into the official folder.  Still nothing.  I was beginning to panic.  Would I have to end my legacy?

But then I decided to try a back up.  It was stamped 7:04 pm.  (I had saved my game to do a little town editing before I really started playing).  Anyway, the back up worked.  So, I have to re-do 4 hours.  A lot happened in those 4 hours.  Megan had twins…that’s the biggest thing.  There was a spectacular fight between her and Isaac about it.  I’m not sure I will be able to duplicate that.

Also, I had some good shots of Deanna that helped develop her personality, which is sorely needed if she is going to be the heir.

GAH!!!

On a side note, I’m thinking of doing an heir re-vote.  Frankly, I suspect that the voters weren’t all readers of my blog and that many of them chose Deanna just because she’s evil.  The vote tallied out like this: Megan 4, Kellen 4, and Deanna 10.  Even if I gave the 4 votes that Kellen got to Megan, she’d still lose to Deanna.

As soon as I’ve done my interlude with the Twins, I am thinking of putting up another poll.  My main concern is in devaluing the idea of a poll if I am so willing to change this one.  People might be reluctant to vote in future polls if they know that I’m just as likely to change it if the poll doesn’t go the way I want.  At the time of the first poll, I honestly didn’t have a preference for heir.  Now I’m leaning toward Megan just because she is so … well, Megan.

What do you think?  Should I do a revote after the interlude with the Twins or just accept the original vote and work it into the plot (which is something that I have been thinking about since the results came out).

Chapter 3 Interlude #3: Tammie

Though she was often wishing to be mean to Tammie, even Megan liked her.

Isaac hadn’t spent a lot of time with his middle daughter, Tammie, which is probably why she’s so well adjusted.  She started with the traits Artistic and Excitable and gained Clumsy as a child.  Isaac hadn’t ever seen Tammie break anything…probably because Jebidiah had upgraded most of the Kendrick furniture to ‘unbreakable’.  As a teen Tammie gained the good sense of humor trait, which made her quite popular to be around.

Tammie wasn’t like Megan, who was so nasty that even Isaac skirted clear of her, or Jerin, who was a lot like his dad, or even Kellen, whose  gender preference cross signals just made Isaac confused.  Tammie sort of went about her own business in the Kendrick household with neither of her parents really paying that much attention to her.

As a teen, Tammie was the one who spent the most time with the twins.  She was more a mother to them than Shalonda who spent most of her time in the garden or fishing in the pond.  Tammie took the twins to the park, out to the Bistro, and sometimes to the movies.

Isaac was slightly ashamed that he hadn’t given them more time because as toddlers he had spent a lot of time with them, but Isaac was preoccupied with finally having become a Rock Star.

Even though he had aged into an elder, like Mick Jagger before him, Isaac didn’t want to retire.  Instead he spent nights performing concerts at the stadium and the theatre.  He also held autograph sessions during the day. Read the rest of this entry »
